Exchange of experiences

Problems are rarely unique. Someone has usually solved them before. In exchange of experiences and special interest groups, you will build up helpful practical knowledge.

How do others solve the same problems?

Our exchange of experiences (ERFA) and platforms are cross-industry hubs on various topics.

They offer a subject-specific discussion forum and exchange with external experts and company representatives.

Process & organization

The participants define the topics together and meet regularly and bindingly with changing host roles.

In addition to organising and coordinating the appointments, the Mechatronics Cluster acts as a neutral player and moderates and documents the individual meetings.

Participation fee per year & company

MC Partner: €700, - excl. tax
Normal price: €1,200, - excl. tax

The participation fee is used to cover the costs of organization, moderation and documentation. If a participant is prevented from attending a meeting, we would like a replacement participant from the respective company.

Current exchange of experiences

Smart Engineering

ERFA product management

The participants exchange views on topics such as strategy, customer and market understanding, organization, processes and tools used and give each other insights into the area of tension in which product managers work on a daily basis. These meetings are held four times a year and provide a valuable opportunity for networking and sharing best practices.

ERFA Digital Engineering & DigiTwin

Digital engineering is the basis for rapid, efficient and sustainably cost-optimized product and process development and enables the creation of new business models. As diverse as the application options are, so are the challenges faced by companies. The aim of this ERFA round is to exchange different solutions, ideas and business models in the context of digital engineering and the digital twin.

ERFA electronics and hardware development

Electronics and the associated hardware are an essential part of the development of increasingly complex systems and products. The focus is on quality management, ensuring reliability and durability, as well as certification and standards. But the challenges posed by technological progress, changes in the materials sector and from the increasingly important networking of individual devices will also be discussed in this round.

Intelligent Production

ERFA digital thread (data consistency)

Machines and systems are complex products in which many different components from mechanics, electrical engineering, electronics, hydraulics and software work together. The following topics are discussed in this ERFA: connectivity (e.g. production with ERP), traceability, digitization of the supply chain, development databases, customer data platform, data hubs (e.g. GAIA-X), organizational & process development, BIM - Building Information Modeling and many more.

ERFA machine safety, safety and standards

Norms and standards are constantly changing, but technological progress also enables new solutions and safety systems. As a result, there are always new challenges, on which experience and knowledge are shared in this long-standing ERFA round.
